Indiana Glacial Lakes:
The Art of Conservation

Indiana's glacial lakes offer peaceful retreats for homeowners and outdoor
enthusiasts alike.

The homes along these waterways are cherished generational treasures, carefully tended by Indiana families who have invested in their preservation and adapted to ecological changes over the years. “Indiana Glacial Lakes: The Art of Conservation” explores the beauty of these unique ecosystems—the southernmost glacial lakes on Earth—and the pressing conservation challenges they face. Issues like harmful algae blooms and declining water quality threaten recreational activities, property values, and the resilience of these lakes.

Indiana’s artists, scientists, and writers will share insights on what is at risk and how these ecological treasures can be preserved. Through research and artistic interpretations, the project aims to raise awareness and highlight the critical conservation work needed to protect these lakes.

Exhibitions and a companion book will be available as early as 2026.
