Indiana Waterways Project: Artist is caught hip-deep into his work recording the Wildcat Creek.

Updated: Mar 6, 2022

Kokomo-Tribune photographer Kelly Lafferty spent an hour in the sweltering heat and humidity photographing Indiana Waterways artist Avon Waters as he sketched studies Tuesday August 10, 2021.

Waters used waders to get past the brush and bugs of the the shoreline and look down the creek to record the far distant haze. "I guess this is what you would call really getting into my work," he said.

In comparison, the water kept him cool from the waist down while Lafferty moved up and down both shorelines to photograph him for an upcoming article on the waterway project supported by the Art Nature Consortium.

Your contributions to ANC will go toward the five artists creating a book of paintings and 100 painting exhibition scheduled to tour the state of Indiana 2022-2023.
